Catherine Jones

I am an integrative counsellor, supervisor and trainer working with individuals and couples.

I studied at University of Wales, Newport where I received an MA in Counselling in 2013 and then went on to complete a Post Grad Diploma in Consultative Supervision in 2016. I also have a Diploma in Relational Couples Therapy.

Together with my practice partner, I founded a training organisation in 2015, Therapy Works Training, which offers CPD to qualified therapists who would like to work with couples.

I have also taught on Level 4 diploma courses in Integrative and Existential approaches.

My approach to supervision is one of collaboration. I work with the Seven Eyed Model of supervision (Hawkins & Shohet) which encourages viewing the therapeutic work from various dimensions and working creatively with the process to gain insight and awareness that is not solely about the narrative. For that to be possible, an atmosphere of support, collaboration and safety needs to exist as a foundation for the supervisory relationship. I believe this is key to productive supervision with therapist and supervisor engaged in the best interest of the client and the ongoing growth of both therapist and supervisor in mind.

I find working in this field immensely rewarding and a constant opportunity for learning and growth. I am passionate about the work we do with clients and have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and couples where this is present. It is especially wonderful to see counsellors in training emerge into their individual styles and flourish as they develop. I feel very privileged to be a part of that life changing process.
